About My Clients
Difficult life experiences can leave a lasting effect. It can be common for you to feel stuck, misunderstood, confused, and like you’re struggling to move forward no matter how much time has passed. Together we can build on your internal strength and move through feelings of disappointment, grief, worry, or overwhelm. We will work with your pain and help you find your way back towards a better life. You don't have to go through this alone.
My Background and Approach
I am an EMDR therapist that specializes in trauma therapy, pregnancy and postpartum related mental health issues, and those who are feeling held back by their anxiety or substance use. Secondly, it is my priority to create and hold space for you to be free to share your inner most experiences. It’s an honor to be with you, to hear you- to be a fellow traveler. Finding a therapist can be an incredibly vulnerable experience. I see you. You don’t have to go through this alone. Finally, we can work together to find your inner strength and create hope for your future. Between EMDR therapy and more traditional talk therapy, I am confident that we can find solutions together. Whether you are looking to move beyond your past, stop worrying about your future, or feel better in the present – there is hope for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my priority to work with you and help you get the most out of your therapy. My approach is collaborative and will be tailored to meet your specific needs. I recognize that everyone is unique and there is no “one size fits all” in therapy. I take into account systemic factors that can influence mental health and multicultural considerations. Furthermore, I utilize a person-centered approach. This means I fully believe that every person strives for and has the capacity to fulfill their own potential. I also implement a positive psychotherapy strength-based approach. This focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness as opposed to weaknesses, shortcomings, or failures. Furthermore, I utilize a trauma informed approach which is crucial in being a trauma therapist. This means I understand and recognizing the nature of trauma. As well as, how it impacts a persons outlook, emotions, and behaviors. This understanding includes hope and is and is where change can begin.
