About My Clients
Trauma has a way of manifesting in our every day lives, from the negative beliefs it instills to symptoms like low self esteem, anxiety, depression and challenges in relationships. I create a safe place to explore and heal from these traumas, at my client's pace and level of comfort. My clients enjoy supplemental meditation, mindfulness and yoga practices to complement trauma treatment when welcome. My Newfie, Ralphie, likes to snooze nearby and maybe get a few pets while you're at the office.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in private practice for 8 years. My approach is empathic yet directive when needed. Seeking out counseling--let alone trauma counseling--can be scary. I work together with my client to develop a strong foundation of coping skills, and build a clear path to healing. When you're ready, we will use EMDR to heal from past trauma and relieve current unwanted symptoms, while continuing to incorporate mind-body modalities such as trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness and meditation if this is of interest to the client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold strongly to the Social Worker core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. The space I've created is designed to make anyone and everyone feel safe, worthy and welcome. Outside of my work, I'm an animal fanatic, and support local pet and farm rescues each month.
