About My Clients
I have specific training in working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+ and related issues. I also have experience working with helping professionals such as other therapists, teachers, and healthcare workers. Grief work, relationship issues, and life transitions are also areas where I thrive as a counselor. Additionally, I utilize a HAES (Health At Every Size) approach with clients.
My Background and Approach
I am an existential and humanistic therapist which means I value your experience and feelings in therapy as a guiding factor in the work we do. My therapeutic practice is about defining what is most important to the client and identifying how we can best serve those priorities to live a life that feels fulfilling and authentic. I also have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which is beneficial in managing symptoms so deeper work can occur during your time in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am an advocate for this population. Whether that is a presenting factor for your therapeutic work or you are looking for a therapist who shares the same ideals as you, this is important to me as a therapist. I also work at a local walk-in crisis clinic which I find extremely valuable as a part of my own community and providing a space for people to come when they need support.
