About My Clients
Have you experienced trauma or are struggling with emotional pain and fear? Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by life's challenges and have a deep sense that things are not going the way you planned. Are you feeling stuck? Perhaps not knowing where to turn? A lot of patients feel that way, all the while, yearning for growth, healing, and positive change. Therapy can be intimidating but together we can work to find ways to mitigate the concerns you currently are experiencing.
My Background and Approach
My process begins with building a strong foundation of trust, which is why I prioritize the initial intake session. During this time, I gather vital background information, allowing me to understand what you’re seeking from therapy while also giving us both the chance to assess if we’re a good fit. Much like a doctor might conduct medical testing to get a clearer picture of a patient's health, I incorporate psychological assessments where appropriate to gain a more complete understanding of the individual. These assessments, typically introduced in the second session, are tools I use to further personalize and deepen the therapeutic process. They help us design strategies that are effective, tailored, and ultimately help you reach the goals you’ve set for yourself in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an integrative therapist, I have always been passionate about fostering growth and learning through my work with patients. My approach to therapy is rooted in a deep belief in the uniqueness of each individual. This is not only part of my practice, but who I am as well. I believe that the best therapist is one who never asks their patient to do something that they are not willing to do themselves, so rest assured, when I say I get it when there's a hard question, or we're delving deep, I really do get it. I started working in private practice in my community to give back to those in need locally and have had the opportunity to give a lot of my time to those who would otherwise not be able to access therapy. I enjoy the growth that I experience from psychotherapy and look forward to getting to continue to grow in the many years to come.
