Teens and young adults are the population I have the most experience with. Oftentimes this age group is misunderstood as not having any "real" problems. Teens and young adults are trying to find out who they are and what they want while navigating in an unsteady world, many times without support or guidance. I love to work on developing a healthy sense of self, setting safe and appropriate boundaries, and handling the on-set of mental illness.

They say "time heals all wounds" but trauma can remain in the mind and body causing a disruption in all aspects of one's life. I work with those who have experienced a variety of traumas learn to cope and grow rather than remain stagnant forced to endure the pain of their experiences alone.

Sexual assault can have a profound impact on the survivor from the event its self, to continued feelings of guilt, shame, and victimization in the criminal justice system. I have worked in crisis response teams responding to sexual assaults and have walked the path of emotional/physical recovery with clients up to and including trials in both criminal and civil court.

Trauma impacts those who have experienced in a variety of ways. It impacts mental, emotional, and spiritual development and can hinder one in their ability to live a life they find meaningful. I focus on creating a safe space and opportunity to process trauma and to create useful and effective coping skills.

I use CBT to address maladaptive coping mechanisms developed as a trauma reaction.

I am an advocate for change. I want to help women to understand and challenge the status quo while working with populations who have experienced inequality, gender based violence, and other forms of injustice.
