I work with LGBTQIA+ folks, open relationships, ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, and unconventional sexual behaviors (BDSM, kink, fetish, etc.) and current and former sex workers. I treat relationship and sexual health concerns including conflict and miscommunication, sexual functioning problems, concerns with sexual behavior, sexual dissatisfaction & desire discrepancy, and anxiety and depressive disorders.
My Background and Approach
I am a sex therapist and a licensed in marriage and family therapist. I have extensive training in sex therapy and sexual health and practice from an evidence-based, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. Typically, I set therapy goals with clients to ensure they are getting what they want out of our work together. Some common therapy goals include decreasing mental health symptoms, increasing relational connection and satisfaction, increasing communication skills and sexual communication skills, and working on assertiveness/naming and asking for needs relationally.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been active in the sex workers rights movement for several years and am the former vice president of the sex workers outreach project - usa. I am a secular therapist and a member of the LGBTQ community. I work often with folks from these communities and people with disability struggling with chronic pain and/or illness and sexual dysfunction.
I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota, Montana, and Iowa and treat therapy patients in these 3 states online through video sessions.
