I'm a Child, Youth, and Family Therapist with an extensive history of working with children, adolescents, and their families.
Therapist in Town and Country, MO
Supervised by Brooke Harris, MA, LPC, RPT-S
I work closely with parents and guardians through the therapeutic process. Sometimes this means I am inviting them into sessions with their child/teen to practice communication skills and establishing healthy boundaries. Other times it means I provide individual sessions focusing on their parenting challenges. This may include developing appropriate interventions, repairing the relationship with their child, and learning ways to practice self-care.
My work with children involves experiential techniques from play therapy, art therapy, and sandtray. I am currently training and under supervision for my Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. I have worked with little ones as young as 3 years old in preschool settings and provided school-based individual and group counseling to elementary students. I focus on teaching social-emotional awareness, self-regulation skills, coping skills, and developing healthy attachments with safe adults.
I have worked in both Middle and High Schools providing social-emotional groups as well as individual and group counseling. I have also worked with young people experiencing adverse circumstances such as homelesness, family separation, and abuse. My experience includes teens afflicted with depression, anxiety, family conflict, ADHD, trauma, behavior issues, school concerns, grief/loss, low self-esteem, unhealthy relationships, suicidality, self-harm, anger management, and substance use.
