About My Clients

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, relationships are often at the heart of my work. Whether it's a family, a child or teen, a couple, or an individual, most of my clients are working towards better relationships with others and with themselves. (Self-love for the win!) My strongest therapeutic alliances have been with children, teen girls, young adults, parents, women, members of the LGBTQ community, and trauma-survivors. We build skills and insight to promote change and wellness.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with a Masters in Psychology (including concentrations in Art Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy) in 2009, and very soon after, entered the field working with at-risk youth and their families enrolled in intensive in-home therapy. Since then, I've worked in a number of settings including schools, clinics, client homes, the community, and online. My passion is helping to empower and strengthen families. As a systems-trained therapist, I believe that improving the mental and emotional wellness of even one individual person can lift up and affect positive change in the whole family, school, or community. I love incorporating creative approaches and art therapy in my work. There is no one-size fits all. I listen closely to understand my clients' strengths, needs, preferences, personality, and perspectives. I use these to tailor my recommendations, treatment plans, and therapy sessions to fit that person's unique needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that it is my honor and responsibility as a therapist to change the world by helping people change and grow into their own strengths. I consider myself an introvert with a superpower for observation, listening, and reflecting. It's my goal to use that power for the good of others, one person or family at a time. I'm a Catholic woman married to a Pastor in a protestant church. I believe that inter-faith relationships can be awesome! I support Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ community, and individuals with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities. I volunteer as a Girl Scout troop leader in my daughters' troop and believe in empowering girls and young women. Our troop was founded to be a safe and inclusive group for all girls, in a community where it's, sadly, not uncommon for them to experience discrimination based on ability or race. I'm a fan of tea, art-making, working out with Daily Burn, horses, dogs, Scrabble, family-time, and date-nights with my husband.
