About My Clients
I work primarily with teens, young adults, and families who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and questions of identity, purpose, and belonging. Many of my clients are also impacted by substance use—whether their own or a loved one’s—and are seeking clarity and support. I help individuals and families notice patterns shaped by past experiences that may be holding them back, and support them with finding new ways forward.
My Background and Approach
I have an extensive background in school-based counseling through my work with a local nonprofit organization. Most of my experience has been in high schools, and I’ve also provided sliding-scale services to the broader community as part of a counseling collaborative. My approach is person-centered and integrative, meaning I tailor treatment to each individual. I draw from family systems and psychodynamic perspectives to help clients build insight, use motivational interviewing to support meaningful change, and incorporate practical CBT and DBT tools to strengthen coping, relationships, and resilience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe each person carries an inner wisdom that can guide them toward a meaningful life. Vulnerability opens the door to intimacy, and our natural drive for growth and connection is often disrupted by early wounds, trauma, or substances that once felt like solutions. I also believe society’s judgments—based on race, gender, or sexuality—take a toll on many of us. Yet despite these challenges, I trust in our capacity to heal, grow, and reconnect with what matters most. Change is always possible, and sometimes the most powerful shift comes from a new perspective.
