About My Clients
You may be experiencing the most difficult moments of your life. Routines and rituals we have enjoyed, as well as the connections with others have been interrupted and for many have ceased. In our work together, you will learn to curb cyclical, negative thinking and instead focus on building healthy relationships with yourself and others. We will explore both helpful and unhelpful patterns. You will build and integrate skills and tools that you can put into practice right away.
My Background and Approach
Over the last 20 years, I have worked with children, teens, adults and couples in an array of counseling and community mental health settings. As both a licensed clinical social worker and a certified yoga teacher, I have found profound healing possible when fusing traditional behavioral psychotherapy and mindful modalities. I hope to empower my clients with the skills and mindful techniques necessary for managing anxiety, depression, and the challenges that accompany significant life transitions. I work from mainly a relational, psychodynamic perspective and incorporate mindfulness and CBT practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the disempowering behaviors and replace them with healthy ones.
