About My Clients

I work with infants, children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, ADHD, autism, trauma, big emotions, and parenting challenges. I have a particular passion for supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and the identity shifts of new parenthood. Many clients are parents feeling stuck, kids whose distress shows up as behavior, or adults carrying anxiety, exhaustion, or self-doubt. I also welcome LGBTQ+ families and single parents seeking an affirming space.

My Background and Approach

I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arkansas and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at Bradley Children's Hospital/Brown University. This means specialized training in early childhood mental health, trauma, ADHD, and autism, not just general practice experience. I'm certified in Trauma-Focused CBT and trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and I draw on CBT, ERP, attachment-focused work, and parent coaching depending on what you need. My approach is warm and collaborative. You're the expert on yourself or your child, so I tailor treatment to your specific goals rather than a one-size-fits-all plan. My research background means the strategies I teach are built to work in real life, whether that's a toddler's bedtime meltdown or an adult managing anxiety at work. My goal is for you to leave with skills you can actually use, and the confidence that comes from feeling truly understood.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe therapy works best when people feel truly seen, not judged. I'm proud to offer an affirming space for LGBTQ+ families and single parents, and I approach every client's story with curiosity rather than assumptions. Outside the therapy room, I'm a mom juggling family life and creative outlets. I'm part of a monthly book club, and I love unplugging outdoors, whether that's hunting down Rhode Island's giant troll sculptures, biking and swimming with my kids, or visiting a local art festival. I also enjoy sewing, costume and special effects makeup, and playing piano. Creative expression matters just as much as clinical skill, and I try to bring that same curiosity and joy into my work with clients.
