About My Clients
I know if you’re here then you have taken a big step in looking for therapy services for you or your child. I hope I can offer some reassurance and more information about what play therapy, parent coaching or individual therapy could look like in your life. I specialize in working with children 9 years of age and under who deal with anxiety, depression, behavior issues/concerns; or have dealt with difficult experiences such as trauma, persistent stress, bullying, or grief.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in play therapy, which is a developmentally sensitive approach that meets children where they are emotionally and developmentally. Rather than adapting adult models for use with kids, play therapy is built on the understanding that play is a child’s natural way of communicating and there can be greater change if we are meeting children at their level. I utilize Child Centered Play Therapy which is a non-directive therapeutic approach that I've seen be so effective in my work with kids. In creating the right therapeutic environment, children will find appropriate ways to cope with unresolved feelings, big behaviors and develop an increased sense of self and self confidence. And I'm trained as a therapist to provide insight, support, tools and help your child gain confidence in themselves and increase their ability to emotionally regulate.
