Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an action-oriented approach that stems from traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It utilizes acceptance and mindfulness strategies to help the client accept the difficulties that come with life.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of talk therapy used across the recovery spectrum. Therapists or psychologists use CBT treatment to help patients become aware of irrational or negative thinking so they can see situations clearly, process them, and respond to them in healthy ways. CBT skills can be life-changing, and are a beneficial part of an integrated treatment plan.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy teaches skills in four specific areas. These are practical skills for everyday use that will help you manage your emotions, behaviors, and stressors more effectively. These skill areas include Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, & Interpersonal Effectiveness.
