About My Clients
From the outside you look like you have it all together, but deep down you feel like you are crumbling. Your mind struggles to slow down. Maybe you find yourself overthinking, replaying conversations from the day, or second-guessing decisions you have made. A lot of folks I work with are thoughtful and self-aware. But underneath this, there’s anxiety, overwhelm, and self-doubt.
My Background and Approach
The research says that the most important factor in determining therapeutic success isn’t the therapist’s approach, but actually the relationship that forms. So I want to make sure you feel comfortable (as comfortable as therapy can feel) when we meet. I've been in the mental health field for over 15 years, and work primarily from a psychodynamic and relational lens. Put simply, I’ve learned that our early relationships can have a big impact on how we view and move through the world. And honestly, this information can feel scary or overwhelming to most of us. I believe that through this work, we can find a way to navigate our world that feels better for us. We do this in part by having our unconscious become conscious. I integrate other therapies depending on the issues you present with or what your goals are. I always welcome feedback throughout the process and want to make sure that psychotherapy isn’t a waste of your time, money, and/or resources.
