About My Clients
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety and emotional regulation. I am passionate about being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and I am an advocate for the special needs community. I work with individual adolescents and adults, typically meeting once per week for about an hour. We will work together to create goals that matter to you and help you work toward a life worth living!
My Background and Approach
I have worked extensively in helping others identify and learn coping skills for the real world. My goal is that you will be able to create your very own "tool box" of skills learned in therapy that you can utilize when you need them most. I know getting started can be the hardest part. I recognize that - and I see you. I use a variety of techniques based on client needs and I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also use trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I enjoy helping others with emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. During our first session, we will go over the intake documents together and discuss your goals, and make a plan together. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to be your true self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person out there has the ability to change and grow at any point in their life. I've realized that a lot of us struggle with mental health issues, but not many of us seek help. We've normalized things or pushed down the feelings that are too painful to think about. You deserve to be honored, appreciated, and loved for exactly who you are. I don't think it's a secret, but most therapists have been through their own share of trauma and we are here because we want to be - not because we need to be. I love it so much that I have a "day job" and this is my side hustle. I love it! I will hold space for you, help you, and support you.
