About My Clients
Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or on edge? Do you find that you have lost motivation or pleasure in activies that you once enjoyed? I have successfully helped many people to reduce and even eliminate these feelings through the use of coping skills, changing thought processes, and overcoming distressful events in a person's life.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Play Therapy to help people of all ages (5 and up) who are dealing with depression, anxiety or past trauma. EMDR is helpful for those experiencing anxiety symtpoms or who have an upsetting memory related to their current distress. CBT and DBT are approaches that help to change thought patterns, regulate emotions, and change behavioral responses. It is effective in helping those with depression and other mood disorders. Play therapy is specifically designed to help children (ages 3 and up) identify and process emotions through the process of specific play techniques and training. Play is the primary language of children and understanding a child's themes in play can help a child learn to regulate their emotions. I am able to use a combination of approaches to best meet the needs of the individual.
