EMDR is helpful for those experiencing anxiety symtpoms or who have an upsetting memory related to their current distress. I am EMDR trained and currently undergoing supervision towards Certification. I have successfully treated indviduals who have experienced trauma related to complex grief, suicide survivors, and childhood abuse. In addition, I have assisted those with panic disorder, seperation anxiety, and panic attacks using EMDR.

I am a DBT informed therapist (foundationally trained) which allows me to teach DBT skills and provide DBT informed care on an outpatient basis. I specialize in treating adolescents with Major Depression, Bipolar, and/or those who have history of self harm behavior. DBT is an approach that helps to change thought patterns, regulate emotions, and change behavioral responses. I do not offer DBT to adults at this time.

Play therapy is specifically designed to help children (ages 3 and up) identify and process emotions through the process of specific play techniques and training. Play is the primary language of children and understanding a child's themes in play can help a child learn to regulate their emotions. I have been trained in Client Centered Play Therapy through the National Association for Play Therapists and completed supervision under a Regristered Play Therapy Supervisor.

Those who may experience flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts and/or images of an upsetting event or who may have a heightened sense of anxiety related to an upsetting event. This can be related to medical issues, witness/exposure to violence, or any circumstance that the person finds particularly distressful. I treat PTSD using EMDR and DBT skills to help people decrease symptoms.

Those who experience worry thoughts about the future, who often ask "what if" or who tend to think something bad is going to happen. Anxiety can also present in physical problems including headaches, stomach issues, and physical pain. Panic attacks involve experiencing shortness or breath, difficulty swallowing, rapid heart rate, perspiration, and/or trembling. Children may experience meltdowns or crying spells when anxious as well.

Depression is when a person feels sad, numb, or hopeless for a period of two weeks or longer. Common symptoms include loss of interest in activities, lack of motivation, change in sleep and/or appetite, withdrawal and/or isolation from others. CBT and DBT can both be beneficial to someone who is feeling depressed. In some cases, EMDR can be helpful in overcoming a life event that contributes to depressed mood.
