About My Clients
We face many transitions in our lives: coping with a sudden or chronic illness, exploring sexual orientation and gender identity, assisting aging parents as they need more care, and many others. There are many situations that can stretch our ability to manage in our world. With these changes we can feel stress and sorrow, but we can also find the opportunity to grow and find a new path. The therapist's role is to work with you to help you draw on your strengths and help you clarify your goals.
My Background and Approach
At Catalyst, our therapists take great joy in helping people realize their own strengths and learn how to approach problems from multiple angles. We feel that the difficult work of adapting to new challenges requires kindness, reinvention, hope, toughness, and a good sense of humor. Catalyst Counseling is a small intentional group of therapists who believe in excellent standards of care and evidence-based practice. We are a LGBT-affirming environment - all are welcome here.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At Catalyst Counseling, our therapists each have developed expertise in a specialty: Chris Garrido-Philp - teens, multicultural families, anxiety. Cate Schilling - ADHD, anxiety. Skye White - chronic illness, life transitions. Allison Doyle - self esteem, anxiety. Lis Bergdahl - trauma, LGBTQ concerns, depression. Gemma Stilley - sexual abuse, trauma. Carlo Quedado - men's issues and trauma. Katherine Walter - aging, LGBTQ concerns.
