About My Clients
I intend to see and understand who you are and what your situation is. I see you as the expert on yourself who will share the content of your life with me and decide what goals you want and we can work to achieve them. As a therapist, I'm a facilitator helping you explore your story, strengths, and values. My clients are most frequently LGBTQIA+ individuals and/or relationships (couple, polycule, family) who appreciate working alongside a therapist within the community.
What I Specialize In
I specialize in relationships, especially LGBTQIA+ ones, whether they be couple, polycule, or familial, as well as individual work relating to identity, sex, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Therapy is a safe space where understanding your wants and needs is a mutual journey that will strengthen your relationships with tools for effective communication. It's important to work with someone you don't have to fully educate about who you are all the time. Everyone's identity is unique, and I'd love to know yours, without burdening you with educating me on terms. This means that in sessions, you can focus on the actual problems you are experiencing, such as not feeling accepted by your family, relationship issues with your partner(s), or the trauma of constant microaggressions like being misgendered repeatedly. You don't just get a therapist; you get someone who actively believes in you. The problem will always be the problem, and we will be a team.
Why I Became a Therapist
I became a therapist because I knew I wanted to help others from a young age and believed in the therapy process. I became dedicated to educating myself and finishing school as soon as I could to get to where I loved what I do. I've always wanted to do this, and I love learning the complexities of our brains and human experiences. I'm always seeking new knowledge and ways that I can improve for my clients. You will be getting someone passionate about the work they do when we talk. I'm a demisexual, panromantic, genderfluid person. I've seen from first-hand experiences what can happen in families and relationships when others cannot communicate effectively and don't feel loved and accepted. I just wanted to do my part to help others, so maybe you don't have to go through the same difficulties. I'm so proud of so many of my clients who have fought hard to be who they are and live authentically.
