About My Clients
You might feel drained from trying to navigate systems that don't align with your needs or from carrying experiences that you've never had the opportunity to process fully. I work with late-diagnosed or questioning Autistic and ADHDers, as well as folks dealing with trauma, relationship challenges, mood fluctuations, and complex relationships with substances. Many of my clients are hesitant about generic therapy approaches and seek care that is affirming, considerate, and highly personalized.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in community mental health and substance use treatment. As a Harm Reductionist, I believe that focusing on abstinence as the only option for problematic substance use keeps too many people stuck, and limits the possibilities for healing. While practical tools and skills are critical in recovery, we must also uncover and address the unmet needs that fuel the behaviors we want to change. I aim to create a therapeutic space where you can explore your substance use on your own terms. My practice is primarily grounded in psychodynamic, feminist and anti-oppressive frameworks. I'm particularly passionate about exploring the narratives we've developed about our lives, our relationships and the world around us. Often, we find that we're holding on to a lot of stories that are holding us back. It can be incredibly liberating to realize that we have the power to re-author some of these stories to find ones that serve us better.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our struggles make sense in the context of the systems we live within. We are shaped by racism, patriarchy, capitalism, ableism, heteronormativity, and other structures that impact how we see ourselves and what we believe is possible. When people come to therapy feeling broken or defective, I’m often thinking about the broader cultural messages and power dynamics that contributed to that pain. Healing, to me, isn’t about becoming more compliant or palatable. It’s about understanding the forces that shaped us, reclaiming our agency, and building a life that feels more aligned, self-directed, and sustainable. I’m committed to lifelong learning and unlearning, and accountability in my work. I aim to create a space where your full identity and life experiences are honored and respected. Therapy should be a space where you feel deeply known and understood. It's an honor to co-create this space with my clients.
