About My Clients
My clients often start seeing me when their life feels chaotic and overwhelming. It may be difficult to focus or manage their relationships, much less their daily life! As we struggle with these things, I know that it can even be tough to start therapy. I want my clients to know that I’m not pushy with knowing all the details right away. I know you’ll share when you’re ready.
My Background and Approach
My goal in our work together is to help you find peace amidst the chaos and help you find a solid ground to stand on as you learn to trust yourself. I won't pretend that I have all the answers - that's not what I’m about. I commit to listening, providing a space of acceptance, and working to help you find answers within yourself. I use a variety of interventions including Acceptance, Mindfulness, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. I will work to share strategies and work on tangible skills to use during and after our time together. My goal is to help you find the strength within yourself to achieve your goals and find a life worth living.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have special interest in working with individuals who have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, anxiety and depression. I have experience with and enjoy working with adolescents and children with Autism, as well challenges related to deafness and hard of hearing (although not certified in ASL, I hold lived-experience in lip-reading). I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Michigan & my Master’s degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University. I’ve had experience working as a Behavioral Tech providing ABA therapy, working within Community Mental Health, completing crisis screenings and assessments & most recently as a DBT therapist. I have worked with AmeriCorp, volunteered with the Humane Society, and enjoy advocating for others wherever I am in life.
