There are many ways to reduce stress and increase self care (and you might already be familiar with many of them), but some times it isn't easy to regularly employ those methods. I can help with finding what works, and figuring out how to be consistent with your coping mechanisms and self care.
I have worked with many individuals experiencing symptoms of depression and have employed a range of different modalities. I am supportive of medication if it has worked for you, and you want to add therapy to manage your symptoms. I can also support getting off of that medication and finding other ways to manage mood symptoms.
I have worked with many individuals experiencing anxiety, and have a range of techniques that I employ to help reduce anxiety. I am also a yoga teacher and believe that mindfulness and meditation are wonderful tools to have in your toolbox if you're experiencing any kind of anxiety. There is extensive data to support mindfulness practices in the reduction of anxiety.
I use many theories and modalities to help treat the individual client and their presenting problems. CBT has been proven as an effective therapy for depression and anxiety, and has several usable constructs to help you understand what is happening in your own thought process. In addition to CBT, Positive Psychology can also be helpful to reframe life issues, and is helpful in focusing on strengths. There are several other modalities listed below that I take resources from that are helpful.
