About My Clients
I work with adults and have in-depth experience working with people of color, queer folks, and college students. My therapeutic approach is informed by an unwavering commitment to anti-oppressive frameworks, my mindfulness and meditation practice, and my ongoing study of psychodynamic and relational theories and techniques.
My Background and Approach
While I will pull from a variety of frameworks to meet your specific needs, my typical approach is to walk with you as we: explore the impact past experiences have on your present life; learn from the dynamics of our therapeutic relationship; notice, name, and shift the patterns that impede your ability to reach your goals. Additionally, I believe insight-oriented work is enhanced by attention to the body - particularly the nervous system and the brain. I am invested in helping my clients better understand the relationship between their sensations, their emotions, and their needs. I often incorporate body-based practices into therapy sessions to support my clients in strengthening their capacities for regulation and self-awareness. I enjoy working with the meaning-making tools that are significant to my clients and I welcome conversation about political ideology, religion, and spirituality. I strive to engage in this work with playfulness, candor, and a warm, grounded presence.
