About My Clients
Are you feeling stuck? Whether you know exactly what you want or you do not want more of the same, I can help. I believe each person has what is needed to achieve their goals but often need assistance in the process. To be honest, the process can be uncomfortable but it is often more uncomfortable to stay stuck. I especially enjoy working with grief and loss, students adjusting to college, and parenting challenges.
My Background and Approach
I am recently trained in ACT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I blend mindfulness in therapy and build on acceptance for things we can not change while focusing on what we can change, our behavior. I use metaphors and simple homework to create understanding and confidence in making those difficult changes. I also have training in Family Systems and Grief and Loss, that guides much of the therapy I provide.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I greatly value helping people thrive and celebrating the personal mountain they have climbed in therapy. It brings me great joy to help people unlock their personal suffering "cage" and emerge into the life they want to live. We all have values and desires that go beyond what we currently have and therapy is the work that gets us there. I will be honored to be included on your journey. Personally, my values include my family, making a positive different in the world, and finding meaning in our existence.
