About My Clients
I help adults who are exhausted from doing everything for everyone and feeling like they aren’t getting anywhere. Feel like their emotions are controlling them, and worried about so many things they can’t think straight. Adults that struggle with their anger and impulsivity, that don’t like how angry they get but can’t seem to change it. You aren’t alone, and you don’t have to go through this alone. I work hard to earn my client’s trust, so they can truly feel safe in the therapeutic space.
My Background and Approach
My clients experience a sense of relief at being able to let their feelings and thoughts out with someone who is impartial and warm. They find me to be kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding. They also experience growth and change over their time in therapy, not just a reduction in their symptoms, and experience an increase in confidence in their relationships, their career and how they feel about themselves. Sometimes there are worksheets and assignments, sometimes there is humor, mostly there will be understanding, encouragement, support, honesty, and no judgment. For over 20 years I have worked with people who have anxiety, anger, worry, panic attacks, impulsivity, rage, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, occupational issues, and emotional dysregulation. I work collaboratively to help them reach their goals and become the confident person they want to be. My clients typically have virtual sessions with me weekly so they have consistent support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly believe that everyone can make progress towards becoming the person that they want to be. I don't believe in giving up on people, or "baselines" (basically this is as good as you are going to get). I'm not here to judge anyone in any way, we all do things that we later regret or wish we hadn't. You get enough judgment from yourself, I don't need to add to that in any way, it just isn't helpful! So much of what we do is learned behavior we have picked up over time, and at one point worked in some way for us. That can change, with support and work. That is what I'm here for, to help you learn new and more positive behaviors to support yourself. I've suffered from anxiety and depression myself, and lived with those with extreme anger, I know what it is like on both sides. Through therapy I was able to find my voice and make positive changes, I love that I now get to do that for others with empathy, education, and acceptance.
