About My Clients
I aid clients in the difficult work of aligning their values with their actions in order to live a balanced and fulfilling life. I am passionate about helping others thrive in life and within themselves. I have been described as energetic, fun, and supportive. I enjoy bringing laughter and humor into the therapy room while also creating a safe space for clients to be vulnerable and open. I believes that everyone deserves to feel heard, seen, and empowered.
My Background and Approach
I have extensive training in mental health and wellness. Specifically, Dr. I specializes in depression, anxiety-related disorders, eating disorders and disordered eating, and life transitions. I have extensive training in evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also have experience and training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. I believe current unhealthy patterns that clients engage in were once helpful and adaptive ways of coping. I use an integrated approach, pulling from these various modalities in a way that is tailored to the needs of each unique client and identifying new healthy ways to process and sit with uncomfortable emotions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to understanding and helping every client for who they are as an individual and the many hats they wear in day to day life. I believe each person has many parts of themselves that make them whole and it is important for me and you to be connected and accepting of all parts. I am committed to better understanding you as a whole and the environment and systems that play a role in your being.
