About My Clients
My clients are often thoughtful, caring people who have found ways to cope that no longer serve them. They may over-intellectualize, engage in all-or-nothing thinking, or be hard on themselves. I work with people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and experiences who are ready to make changes, but may not know how—or may be scared to. Together, we work to turn thought into action.
My Background and Approach
I work primarily with people with eating disorders, trauma (PTSD, C-PTSD), and people who are a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I have my MA in Drama Therapy from NYU and a BFA in Theatre Performance from University of Evansville. I work from a place that is transparent, compassionate, humorous, trauma-informed, relational, and playful. I want to help clients be in the full of their humanity. My practice is grounded in anti-carceral care, rejecting punishment, coercion, and control in favor of dignity, choice, and collaboration. I believe healing happens in relationship—and I strive to create a space that is deeply inclusive, affirming, and responsive to the realities of my client's lives. I balance talk therapy with creative/experiential methods including drama therapy, psychodramatic techniques, and EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The words of cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien ring in my head when I think about my beliefs: “Four Rules For Life: Show up. Pay attention. Tell the truth. Don't be attached to the results.” That is how I want to live my life. I deeply believe in justice, humor as healing, and that big feelings are welcome. I am an openly queer person who feels grateful and exhilarated by community, connection, and loving big. I love to read more than almost anything, have a wife and cat I cherish, and have yet to meet a cheese I don't like. Welcome!
