About My Clients

Do you struggle with maintaining attention or focus? Do you have trouble getting started on tasks even though your brain is screaming at you to get up and do the thing? Have you gotten caught in dopamine traps that feel really good until you see that 4 hours have flown by? These executive function challenges are often very difficult to manage on your own, but they are manageable with the right tools. We'll build systems that make sense for your life, not try to fit your life into a system.

My Background and Approach

We will work together to find things that work for you. I don't have a list of tools that every person should follow, because every person is different. We'll identify what the stuck points are for you and how to address them. I use what's called an "integrative" approach pulling from other techniques and modalities as it's appropriate for my clients. I have also trained in EMDR therapy to help reprocess traumatic experiences and negative thoughts about yourself. This is different from traditional talk therapy and provides a framework to help change the way you view yourself in relation to difficult memories. As someone who both has ADHD and has experienced trauma I know firsthand how difficult to manage these symptoms can be. I have done a lot of work to better understand my particular challenges with executive function and move beyond my trauma, and I want to help you do the same.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I love neuroscience and I'm always trying to learn more to better understand how our brains work. I believe that in many ways we are culminations of our experiences. This can be incredibly useful at times, and can also lead us to continue behaviors we don't like so much. Our brains are built on pathways from the things we've learned, experienced, and seen. Changing these pathways is difficult, but certainly not impossible. In my personal life I love loom knitting (which in my opinion is the superior fiber art), anime, D&D, trying new tea flavors, and fantasy/sci fi books and television. My goal is always to provide an open and safe environment for anyone who comes to me regardless of race, gender, orientation, or creed, and I know that to do this requires continuous work and self evaluation for me to keep recognizing my own biases and barriers. I am committed to doing this work and welcome any opportunities to grow.
