Hello, my name is Katelin. So very nice to meet you. I am proud of you for starting this journey and honored to be a part of it.
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Noblesville, IN
There is a lot under the stress umbrella. Work, school, social, familial, racial, environmental, etc. I utilize a variety of treatment techniques to help you process these stressors, stockpile your coping skills tool kit and move onto living your awesome life.
I have extensive experience and training in the treatment of trauma. I am trained in the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as well as TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Prior to starting my private practice, I worked with children in the child welfare system who had experienced all kinds of abuse/neglect. There is real hope to come onto the other side of trauma and I would love to help you in that path.
I am quite knowledgeable of trans-related issues, both mental health as well as environmental based issues. Whether you are at the point of questioning, trying to figure out the best way to come out or need to process work stress after starting a new job during transition, I would be honored to help.
We will incorporates mindfulness practices such as meditation and breathing exercises into cognitive processing. Using these tools, you will learn to break away from negative thought patterns that can cause a downward spiral into a depressed state so you will be able to fight off depression before it takes hold.
EMDR uses bi-lateral brain stimulation to enable people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Through this process, we can processes memories/events/experiences that may be deeply repressed and reframe these so you can move on with your life and stop experiencing emotional blocking.
CBT is utilized just as it sounds; to integrate your cognitions (thoughts) and behaviors (actions) into synchrony. We will also add your feelings/emotions into this triangle of experiences to help you better understand why you may have come to the negative understand you did regarding that email your boss sent you about wanting to meet tomorrow morning.
