About My Clients

I work with women and teens impacted by childhood, attachment, and relational trauma, as well as anxiety, self-blame, and people-pleasing patterns that developed in response to feeling unsafe or unseen. Many of my clients are high-functioning but feel disconnected from themselves or stuck in protective patterns. Therapy offers a paced, compassionate space to build safety, self-trust, and deeper connection.

My Background and Approach

Kate is a licensed therapist at North Salem Psychotherapy who works with women and teens impacted by anxiety, trauma, and attachment wounds. Her approach is grounded in the belief that many symptoms are adaptive responses to past experiences, and that healing happens through building safety, awareness, and connection — both emotionally and in the body. Kate integrates somatic and body-based work with Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Therapy often focuses on slowing down, noticing what’s happening beneath the surface, and gently working with protective patterns that developed in response to trauma. Sessions are paced thoughtfully and collaboratively, helping clients feel more regulated, grounded, and connected to themselves over time.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Kate believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and met with compassion. She views symptoms as meaningful responses to past experiences rather than problems to be fixed. Her work is guided by the belief that healing happens through slowing down, listening to the body, and building a sense of safety and self-trust over time. Kate values curiosity, collaboration, and pacing therapy in a way that honors each person’s nervous system and capacity, allowing change to unfold gently and sustainably.
