About My Clients

Is therapy something that you've been thinking of but maybe putting off? I understand how hard it can be to take that first step and to prioritize one's own wellbeing and self-care. However, I do believe that we all contend with something in life, whether that is anxiety, depression, unexpected loss or trauma, or relationships issues. Whatever it is, we all need help sometimes. I look forward to helping you identify the tools that are going to move you forward in your life.

My Background and Approach

I received my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles, CA. I have 8 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and couples, in a variety of settings, including individual and group settings. I have worked in both community mental health and in private practice. Throughout my experience, I have learned how to help clients identify whatever roadblocks are preventing them from living their full, authentic and desired lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to witness the growth and progress in my clients. I am direct and solution-focused and utilize a combination of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and a Person-Centered approach. I believe that clients that have worked with me have come to a better understanding of the narratives and thought processes that have been holding them back and have been able to identify more empowering ways of thinking of themselves and their future.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have absolute faith that everyone is capable of introspection and change. I believe that, given the right internal and external environments, we all actually tend to move toward change and improvement. I believe goal setting can be incredibly motivating and empowering. I think that a lot of suffering comes from maladaptive reactions to external events or situations and that, regardless of anything external going on, we have the power to change our perspective and our attitudes to bring about lasting change and improved emotional and mental health.
