About My Clients
I work with adults and couples who want to understand their emotional and relational lives more deeply. I have particular expertise in couples work and enjoy working with writers, directors, showrunners, artists, and other creative professionals. I also work with parents at every stage, including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting adolescents and adults. Together, we explore patterns, relationships, and feelings that may be difficult to see on your own.
My Background and Approach
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and contemporary psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and clinicians. My approach is relational, informed by psychoanalytic thinking, attachment and developmental psychology, mindfulness, and contemporary clinical thought. Therapy is not only about understanding ourselves, but about experiencing ourselves differently and becoming more fully who we are. I pay close attention to emotional life, the body, and the patterns that shape how we experience ourselves and others. These are shaped by our histories, relationships, and the social and cultural worlds we live in. Together, we explore what may be difficult to feel or put into words, creating greater freedom, connection, and agency. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and my BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m interested in the complexity of emotional life and in the ways we come to know ourselves through our relationships. We bring our histories, hopes, fears, and expectations into the world, sometimes finding ourselves repeating patterns even when we understand them intellectually. Therapy can offer a space to stay with our experience, become curious about what is unfolding, and discover new ways of experiencing ourselves and others. I value creativity, curiosity, and making room for experiences that don’t have easy answers. I’m drawn to the places where something that has felt stuck can begin to move, where we can discover what we actually want, and where there is room for surprise. My background in the arts continues to shape how I think about therapy: as a space to slow down, listen closely, and find greater freedom, connection, and range in how we experience our lives.
