About My Clients
Kate brings experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults living with chronic pain, histories of justice or other systems involvement, neurodiversity, and experiences of acute or complex childhood trauma. Kate believes that the relationship between the therapist and client(s) is the cornerstone of success in therapy. Whether you're ready to dive in during the first session, or want to take things one step at a time, she is prepared to meet you there.
My Background and Approach
Kate approaches therapy with curiosity, care, and a strong social justice lens. She believes that healing happens in relationships and within context, and collaborates with clients to understand how experiences, systems, and identities intersect to shape their lives. Kate brings a background in teaching and community-based work, which informs her developmental, strengths-based approach. Kate is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and integrates psychodynamic, attachment-focused, and somatic approaches to help clients build insight, increase emotional regulation, and feel ready to participate in their lives. Kate earned her Master of Social Work from Texas State University and completed her undergraduate studies at UT Austin.
