About My Clients
My clients are intelligent, creative, loving, and curious. Together, we identify short- and long-term goals on which to collaborate. Often, clients begin therapy because they feel scared, misunderstood, lost, confused, stuck, dissatisfied, unfulfilled, or disappointed. We use proven strategies and a strengths-based compassionate approach to develop more authentic relationships, clearer communications, generous but protective boundaries, and a genuine purpose.
My Background and Approach
My approach is strengths-based -- we look for what is working well, and we limit thoughts and habits that are no longer working. I have extensive experience helping with anxiety, problem-solving, and communication. I work with ages 12 and up. I offer nonjudgmental listening, support for your dreams, reflection of who you really are, and creative solutions for breakthroughs and growth. My approach is eclectic and tailored to each client. I integrate mindfulness and somatic approaches, with behavioral approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT) along with attachment-focused, compassion-driven science.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I chose a social work profession because of my commitment to the values of our profession: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, competence. These values guide my professional work as well as my personal work in my communities. With a creative background in the arts, I encourage clients to express themselves in whatever medium best suits - sometimes, that includes dogs or horses, too.
