About My Clients
You are looking for that space where you don't have to perform, explain, or always be the strong one in the room. I can meet you there; just as you are. If you are feeling overwhelmed by all-the-things in life and are struggling to find peace, and/or a sense of grounding, I'd like to help you find that within yourself.
My Background and Approach
My person-centered and existential approach allows me to meet you where you are and support you in uncovering strengths that have been dormant for a long time. My therapeutic orientation is grounded in culturally humble, humanistic values, with a strong emphasis on building authentic, collaborative relationships. I am committed to decolonizing the counseling space by challenging dominant narratives, honoring cultural wisdom, and creating an environment where clients’ identities and lived experiences are not only respected but centered in the healing process. If you are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, or relationship challenges, I will show up with authenticity, presence, and humility to support you on your unique journey—whether through psychoeducation, skill-building, or offering a safe/brave space for reflection and processing. I view my role as a voice that gently reminds you of who you are and helps you reconnect with the power of your natural strengths.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some of my core beliefs are that love and joy sustain us and keep us connected. Oppression, grief, and isolation can disrupt our ability to consistently experience these feelings. By cultivating love, joy, and connection within our communities, we can navigate oppression and isolation, while allowing grief to bear witness to that journey. I believe therapy supports intrapersonal reconnection by offering a nonjudgmental space for emotional processing, highlighting values, and bringing awareness to personal strengths. From this foundation, individuals can strengthen relationships with their communities and loved ones. I view therapy as inherently political and welcome social justice work into the therapeutic space, challenging beliefs that threaten the safety and inclusion of marginalized communities. I identify as a queer cisgender woman and hold anti-racist, pro-trans, feminist, and nonreligious values, and I am committed to affirming the LGBTQ+ community.
