My Background and Approach
As an eating disorder therapist, I base my sessions in Health at Every Size and Intuitive eating, while building skills in emotional regulation and self-compassion. I meet clients where they are, while guiding them to gradually challenge their eating disorder thoughts and behaviors through exposure work. Ultimately, eating disorders serve a purpose, and my goal as a therapist is to help clients address the underlying issues that are driving the eating disorder thoughts and behaviors, such as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, past trauma, and relationship challenges. I am licensed in PA, MD, and FL (NJ pending) and work with those struggling with their relationship with food, exercise, and body, as well as athletes in recovery. I am personally, recovered, which inspired my work in guiding others to find their identity outside their eating disorder and improve their relationship with food, body, and movement.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am personally, recovered, which inspired my work in guiding others to find their identity outside their eating disorder and improve their relationship with food, body, and movement. My experience as a high school and collegiate athlete was part of my journey through recovery and I strive to help guide others through finding this same peace with movement. In my free time, I love running, hiking with my pup, Monti, and trying out new coffee shops and restaurants!
