About My Clients
You work hard and appear to have it together, but inside anxiety is churning. It's been an issue and the current state of the world isn't helping. Thoughts race. Sleep is elusive. It’s getting harder to keep things under control and concentrate. You're not alone. Anxiety is the most common mental health issue in the U.S. Take heart, it's also highly treatable.
My Background and Approach
My approach is a blend of practicing ways to manage symptoms - such as panic or negative thinking - and exploring events that have left an impact on you, such as childhood trauma including adoption, divorce, or death of a parent. I believe both skills and insight are necessary for lasting change. Realistically, patience and a willingness to explore your story is needed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I thrive on working with people in the pursuit of deeper understanding, insight, and achievement of life goals. Exploring a client’s unique story is a huge privilege and I take the work I do very seriously. It takes a lot of guts to enter into a therapy relationship. I believe with dedication and hard work, everyone can change and experience healing. I have an affinity for working with people experiencing anxiety or undue stress brought on by life transitions (career, relationships, grief). Personally and professionally, I’m part of the LGBTQ and adoptee communities.
