About My Clients
My clients are seeking a change, and I am excited to be part of their journey. If you are struggling with anxiety and life stressors, I can help you build holistic coping skills to move from paralysis to tackling your goals. I believe it is important to support the whole client, which includes being aware of the impacts of our social and cultural environments, and considering how best to empower clients to make the changes within those contexts.
My Background and Approach
I see clients via telehealth exclusively. March 2023: wait list for new private pay and Aetna clients. We can define and prioritize your short and long term goals, and then develop steps to accomplish them. We will identify and build on your own strengths and experiences, while utilizing a combination of both traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), assertive communication skills, and holistic wellness approaches (mindfulness, breath practice, yoga, Emotional Freedom Technique) in order to address anxiety, trauma, depression, stress management, time management, and relationship issues. Let's break down what didn't work for you in the past week, and figure out how to utilize new self-care, coping, and communication skills in order to make it go better in the future! Office hours are 10-4, Mondays through Thursdays.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In 2017, I was inspired by Joan Baez's quote, "action is the antidote to despair," and I took steps every month to support voter participation and connect with our elected officials. I take the issue of racial and social justice very seriously and continue to work on being a supportive ally, from supporting the Black Lives Matter movement to taking trainings on microaggressions to being open to the many blind spots I may have. I am concerned that BIPOC are underserved by the mental health system and want to be part of correcting that by bettering my own ability to serve BIPOC clients, as well as be aware of and advocate for changes in our health care delivery system to address those inequities.
