About My Clients
I am passionate about helping people find freedom from their eating disorder and life challenges by gently confronting barriers, building on strengths and challenging unhelpful relational and thought patterns. Making lasting, impactful change is possible for everyone and I supports my clients on their journey through empathy and empowerment. I additionally enjoys helping clients build healthier, more fulfilling relationships through couples counseling.
My Background and Approach
I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University and was trained to treat eating disorders through the Unified Treatment Model, which incorporates various evidenced based interventions and approaches to help clients be free from their eating disorders. I help clients understand how unresolved interpersonal experiences maintain their distress. Incorporating a holistic, individualized approach while helping clients cope in a healthier way to achieve a more relational satisfying life while understanding root causes is my goal when working with clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am HAES aligned meaning I believe that body size is not solely within our control, therefore making peace with, rather that fighting against bodies allows for better body image. I always incorporate an all foods fit approach with whomever I am working with, believing that societal perception related to bodies and food is the issue, not our bodies.
