About My Clients
I have a long history of working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression. I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, especially those who have witnessed violence, abuse, or military-related trauma. I am experienced in providing therapy for those experiencing transition, in particular, transitions from military to civilian life and/or transitions in adapting to living in a new culture.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I specialize in helping individuals recover from trauma and have a great passion in serving clients with a military background. With over eight years of clinical experience, I brings a relational, authentic presence to my therapeutic treatment. My approach is collaborative and personalized, integrating the individual's individual circumstances with my knowledge of treatment modalities and trauma-informed interventions. I cultivate trust with my clients and am able to integrate the needs of diverse backgrounds and experiences to offer hope and overcome obstacles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in cultivating trust and building a strong relationship. In my work, this means checking in both with the struggles of daily life and also past experiences. I believe in creating a collaborative relationship, where we decide together what the individual may need moving forward. My favorite thing about counseling is meeting people with different experiences and backgrounds and helping each individual find ways to make life more enjoyable.
