About My Clients
Are you a member of the LGBTQ2S+ community who has had difficulty finding an affirming therapist in the past? Are you struggling to come to terms with your gender or sexual identity? Or, are you simply dealing with anxiety, depression, past trauma, or other mental health concerns? As a member of the community who has dealt with several of these issues myself, I can relate to what you may be feeling, and I'm here to help.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with both a bachelor's (BSW) and master's (MSW) degree in social work. I chose to pursue a social work degree due to the profession's commitment to advocating for the rights of marginalized and oppressed communities. I approach all client issues with an intersectional, feminist, queer-affirming, and anti-racist lens. I also favor a strengths-based, client-led, and person-centered approach. Together, we will explore a variety of different treatment modalities to find the best fit for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I wholeheartedly support BIPOC rights, the LGBTQ2S+ community, sex workers, the right to choose, and body neutrality. I also believe that mental health should be taken just as seriously as physical health. I know I am not perfect and that there will always be more to learn regarding these issues, so I make a point to listen to others and actively educate myself. Some fun facts about myself: I love queer media, I have two adorable cats, and I enjoy playing fantasy RPG video games.
