About My Clients

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for folks to explore what it means to be human. Therapy is a place where you can hit the pause button: celebrate and/or grieve what you are letting go of; slow down and get intentional about how you want to move into your next phase, and give space to your emotions. Anyone that wants to explore relationships, identity, life transitions, and the mental and emotional stressors that make navigating those things challenging, may be a good fit.

My Background and Approach

When I meet with someone we figure out what the most beneficial approach will be in working together based on individual needs. I guide people in fostering a mind-body awareness and offer tools to find a greater sense of safety and social connection. I pair this with cognitive based approaches that allow clients to gain perspective in how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors interact with one another. Certified in DBT and trained as a yoga teacher I bring in skills based tools and movement as appropriate. I love utilizing nature and creativity in the therapeutic space as much as possible and may offer writing prompts or time spent in nature as therapeutic practice outside of sessions. I believe each person is the expert on their own experience and brings unique perspective and gifts to the table. I always look forward to the ways that I inevitably learn from my clients and feel honored when I get to be a part of someones process of vulnerability, growth, and change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I come from a long line of healers; mothers, nurses, therapists, and faith workers. Strangers often tell me, “I don’t know why I just shared all that with you.” I think this happens because I am genuinely interested in people, and they feel comfortable opening up to me. I identify as queer and engage in open relationship dynamics with my partner. I feel strongly that everyone should have access to safe, affordable, affirming care and do my best to provide that. I have been a volunteer with OURvoice's crisis line, worked with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and adults in residential mental health treatment. I don't define people by their diagnosis and have an approach that puts the therapeutic relationship at the center of healing. I deeply value getting to know my clients and am continually humbled by the work I get to do.
