About My Clients
I work with children, teens, and adults heal from trauma sustained at any point in life. In addition to trauma, I also work with those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and chronic stress. I am also an affirming therapist who enjoys working with LGBTQIA+ folks.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to help provide you immediate relief from symptoms by developing relaxation skills and connecting you with your body to assist in emotional regulation. Then, we will work on helping you understand your symptoms and how they impact you, your behaviors, your body, and your relationships. Once stable, we will address your trauma history and begin making meaning of your experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I grew up in a rural Texas community where I observed the impacts of poverty, racism, homophobia and transphobia on those closest to me. As a result, I have dedicated time educating myself on anti-racist principles and LGBTQIA+ affirming practices. My specialty in trauma encompasses lived experiences of my own abuse, allowing me to empathize with the experiences of clients in a way that is unique.
