I'm a Mexican-American therapist, who enjoys working with clients navigating intersecting issues of trauma, anxiety and relationships.
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Dallas, TX
Supervised by Barbara Armitage, LPC-S
I enjoy working with teens/adolescents (13+) to guide in navigating life transitions, school and family related issues, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and depression. I am trained in family systems and often utilize positive parenting techniques in session. I enjoy working with all types of families, inclduing blended and co-parenting families. As the saying goes, "It Takes a Village", and I am honored to be in collaboration with your family to help your teen feel better!
As a high functioning person with anxiety, I completely empathize with your struggle! Maybe it's the racing thoughts or physiological symptoms that have finally brought you to seek a therapist who just "gets it". We will work together to better understand your history with anxiety, while I simultaneously teach you tools and coping skills to manage your symptoms. I often utlize cognitive techniques and mindfulness.
As a 2nd generation Mexican-American immigrant, I understand the overlap of biculturalism and trauma. In session, I will hold space to understand your unique lived experience(s) while fostering an empathetic and comfortable atmoshphere. My primary goal is to help guide you in changing the narrative that has caused you distress and towards a life of balance and fulfilment.
