About My Clients

I work with adults, children, couples, and families in addition to facilitating groups. I believe that there is no one path to mental and relational health and well-being. Whether your challenges are depression, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, work struggles, or just feeling overwhelmed and lost, I will adapt to you and your needs to get you on the right track.

My Background and Approach

I take an integrative approach to working with conditions such as depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles, and borrow from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness. When working with kids, I draw from my training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, an evidenced-based modality that helps children express themselves and work through difficult emotions in a safe and supportive environment. I also provide sandtray therapy in-person and am also trained in ABA, or Applied Behavioral Anaysis, and worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician in home and clinic settings with children on the Autism spectrum. Lastly, I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained clinician, specializing in work with individuals with histories of trauma. I believe many mental health issues stem from traumatic memories, and those memories, once processed, can lead to life-changing positive results.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I bring 9 years of experience as an educator in the United States and abroad to my counseling practice, including working with refugees and in special education, and value the unique experiences and backgrounds of each of my clients. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who comes through my door. In my free time, I have been an advocate for mental health as a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) volunteer, facilitating talks and workshops on mental health since 2019. I realize therapy is a partnership, and I feel grateful to be chosen and trusted with the opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to help heal. My approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow, and I use evidence-based techniques to create a customized treatment plan for each client.
