About My Clients
From mature adults to those just entering their adulthood, I work with people who want to build new skills to cope with difficult feelings, to build courage toward living a life that aligns with their values, or simply want to use art as a way to explore their emotional landscape.
My Background and Approach
Through creative expression, mindfulness, and a strong therapeutic alliance, we'll explore areas of discomfort and distress, respond kindly to reduce harm, and develop tools to navigate challenges such as identity development, life transitions, social stress, and sensory or perceptual differences. My intention is to create a space where you can express yourself freely, build compassion for yourself and others, and promote skillful approaches to daily life. By blending Art Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we'll co-create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. I am currently accepting clients for individual art therapy and gauging interest in an open studio therapeutic art-making group.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I celebrate intersectional identities, creative resilience, and work hard to create a deep understanding of the lived experiences and best qualities in each person I encounter. My experience working with people 55 and up experiencing psychosis, major depression, mania, and cognitive decline in an inpatient psychiatric setting enables me to build alliances with those who struggle to feel seen in the traditional talk therapy space. My neurodiversity affirming, class-conscious approach stems from my core belief that people from all walks of life deserve to access supportive, personalized, and non-judgmental care.
