About My Clients
I specialize in treating people who are suffering from the effects of trauma, mood disorders, grief/loss, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and substance use disorders. It is my intention that people I work with experience a sense of being understood and cared for. Are sadness, anxiety, or relationship issues negatively impacting your life? Therapy can help you. In therapy we will explore ways to find emotional relief, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and develop healthier relationships.
My Background and Approach
My practice is trauma informed. My primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I also draw in aspects from other modalities such as motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, DBT, and behavioral interventions. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is essential to making positive, lasting change. I put time and effort into developing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. During our initial session, we will explore what brought you to therapy. We will develop a treatment plan to work towards your treatment goals. Depending on your needs, I also have experience in treating substance use disorders and I am paneled with Health Professionals Recovery Program through the State of Michigan to provide therapy to health professionals in their program. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe mental wellness is as important as physical wellness. Although we are all unique individuals, I believe we all have the same basic needs. I make it a point to meet clients where they are at and help them build on their strengths to make the type of life they want to have.
