About My Clients
Are you struggling at home, work or school, facing stressful or painful events in your life, or simply need someone to openly listen? I work with individuals who have anxiety, depression, substance abuse, mood disorders, dual diagnoses, and PTSD. My goal as a counselor is to provide a confidential setting while establishing a trusting connection with you so together, we can explore pathways to your own health and well-being.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling includes different modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness, and Lifespan Integration (LI)- (https://lifespanintegration.com/). I work with each individual to design a personal plan to help them find their pathway to wholeness. In addition to my years in counseling, I have worked in the foster care system helping to reunite families, and in the educational system guiding students in their studies including career and college choices. I am a graduate of the University of Alabama’s Rehabilitation Counseling program, and my graduate study was focused in the area of substance abuse.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the capacity to reach for wholeness of one's mind, body, and soul. My own personal journey of overcoming my past childhood traumas through therapeutic work/support, inspired me as a counselor to specialize in trauma. I look forward to every day as a counselor, helping and inspiring others so that they can begin to hope for the possibilities of growth and healing in their own lives.
