About My Clients
My clients may be engaging in circular arguments and feeling "gridlocked" in their relationships, dealing with symptoms of sexual dysfunction, struggling with differences in sexual desire with their romantic partner(s), seeking sex and kink positive therapy, seeking inclusive mental health care and/or gender affirmative care, and may have co-occurring mental health disorders or trauma histories. My clients also may be individuals exploring their sexuality and seeking a safe, queer, therapist.
My Background and Approach
Being client-centered, I strive to prioritize flexibility in my approach while staying grounded in Multicultural, Feminist, Systems, and Emotion-Focused theories. I present with a calm, empathetic affect, and deliver a balanced approach between nurturing redirection and loving encouragement. I have experience working with families, couples, polyamorous folx/polycules, queer populations, and kink/sex positive therapies. I have worked in integrated care, inpatient rehabilitation, group psychotherapy practice, and now have my own private practice. My diverse experience, sex and relationship expertise, and queer identity, make me the ideal counselor for progressive folx who are seeking a progressive, queer friendly space for healing. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe a large part of mental health disorders and relationship conflict is the result of toxic societal expectations and meaningless constructs developed by white, patriarchal governments. As a queer woman, I actively participate in social activism and work to understand my role in oppressive systems while advocating for and supporting marginalized communities. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, dancing, going to concerts, and finding an ocean to swim in.
