About My Clients
Have you been unable to stop intrusive thoughts or flashbacks about what you’ve had to suppress to survive? Are you tired of the same relational cycles and interested in exploring their roots? I work with adults who are curious about unearthing the painful experiences caused by trauma, attachment wounds, grief, and loss, which often manifest as panic attacks, people pleasing, avoidance, life transitions, or a desire to explore who they really are.
My Background and Approach
I have been a social worker for over a decade, and that experience has deeply shaped how I approach therapy. I received my clinical training at a trauma recovery center, where I worked alongside survivors of interpersonal violence, navigating the impact of trauma and rebuilding their sense of safety and self. I often worked with individuals who believed talking to someone was a betrayal of their loved ones or "for crazy people". Beliefs that I, too, was once taught and had to unlearn. In our confidential work together, you don’t need to prove your worthy of support and validation. You are welcome to arrive as your whole self: layered, complex, grieving, and growing. Together, we can make room for contradictions—strength and tenderness, doubt and faith, sorrow and humor, logic and intuition.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The sense of connection you have to your therapist is foundational to your healing journey. Just as with all other relationships, it can be difficult to speak openly with someone you do not feel psychologically safe with. It is important to me that we first build a secure base that you can then model in your own relationships. As a bilingual, daughter of immigrants, and LGBTQ+ professional, I bring my lived experience and deep empathy to my work. I am guided by the core values of the social work profession: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence.
