About My Clients
We work with a diverse population of adolescents and adults, couples and special interest groups. We welcome clients who identify in a variety of ways related to age, gender, race, sexuality, and religion. Many of the people who choose to work with us are highly motivated professionals who are independent and achievement-focused, but may struggle with depression, anxiety, relationships and stress issues. We work with high-school and college students, high-achievers that face many pressures.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor and a licensed alcohol & drug counselor. I'm the owner of Fairfield Counseling Center, Pllc. We are a small group of doctoral and master-level psychotherapists who provide quality mental health treatment in Connecticut. I have 10 years of experience in doing psychotherapy. I've had extensive training in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, stress, and addictive disorders. I develop an individualized treatment plan for each of my clients, understanding each person's unique needs. My treatment philosophy emphasizes: empathy, acceptance, and non-judgmental approach. I typically use CBT, MI, EMDR, Solution-focused, and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients overcome negative emotions and difficult life experiences. I also use other modalities as appropriate. I teach as an adjunct instructor at HCC in Human Services & Psychology Department.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We believe that many people seek out therapy not because of their psychological problems, but more so to help them reach their goals, achieve personal growth, and improve self-care. We are here to help you to be your best self.
